At VedicCarat, every gemstone is carefully selected, inspected, certified, and securely packaged before it leaves our hands. Because our gemstones are natural, premium, and individually documented, we follow a strict return policy to preserve their authenticity and integrity.
1. 7-Day Return Window
Eligible natural loose gemstones and non-customized Rudraksha products may be returned within 7 calendar days from the date of delivery.
A return request must be raised within this 7-day period. Requests submitted after the return window may not be accepted.
2. Return Conditions
To qualify for a refund, the product must:
- Be returned in its original condition.
- Remain in its original laboratory container/packaging, wherever applicable.
- Include the original GSL/laboratory certificate.
- Include all original packaging, documents, tags, and accompanying items.
- Show no signs of wearing, scratching, chipping, cracking, alteration, polishing, drilling, cutting, resizing, mounting, or treatment.
- Match the gemstone and certificate originally supplied by VedicCarat.
- Have no tampering or damage to the original seal or packaging, where applicable.
Opening or breaking a sealed laboratory container may make the gemstone ineligible for return.
3. Non-Returnable Products
The following products are generally not eligible for return or refund:
- Customized or personalized gemstones
- Gemstones that have been mounted or set into jewellery
- Resized, polished, recut, drilled, treated, or otherwise altered gemstones
- Customized Rudraksha malas, bracelets, pendants, or other personalized products
- Specially prepared products made according to individual customer requirements
- Products with missing certificates, damaged packaging, or tampered seals
- Products showing signs of use or wear
Exceptions may apply where the product is verified to have been damaged in transit, incorrectly supplied, or materially different from the order.
4. Return Request
To initiate a return, customers must contact VedicCarat within 7 days of delivery and provide:
- Order number
- Reason for return
- Clear photographs of the product
- Certificate photographs
- Photographs of the complete packaging
An unboxing video is strongly recommended, particularly for high-value orders.
A return request is subject to approval and does not automatically guarantee a refund.
5. Inspection & Verification
Every returned gemstone is carefully inspected before a refund is approved.
VedicCarat may verify:
- Gemstone identity
- Certificate number
- Physical condition
- Weight and dimensions, where applicable
- Packaging and seal integrity
- Signs of alteration, treatment, damage, or wear
- Authenticity and correspondence with the originally dispatched product
For high-value gemstones, additional verification may be carried out where reasonably required.
If the returned product does not meet the conditions of this policy, the refund may be declined.
6. Refunds
Once the returned product successfully passes inspection and verification, the eligible refund will be processed to the original payment method, subject to applicable payment and banking timelines.
Applicable shipping, customization, or other non-refundable charges may be deducted where permitted by applicable law and disclosed at the time of purchase.
7. Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, incorrect, or materially different from what you ordered, please notify VedicCarat within 48 hours of delivery.
Please retain the original packaging and provide photographs/videos of the package and product.
After verification, VedicCarat may arrange an appropriate replacement or refund, subject to availability and the circumstances of the case.
8. Natural Gemstone Variations
Natural gemstones are unique creations of nature. Minor variations in colour, clarity, inclusions, texture, and appearance are natural characteristics and do not, by themselves, constitute a defect.
Returns on Custom-Mounted Gemstones
If your gemstone has been purchased mounted in a custom-made ring, pendant, or other jewellery setting, the return terms differ from those applicable to loose gemstones.
Gemstone Value
The eligible value of the gemstone itself may be refunded, subject to the applicable return conditions and successful inspection of the gemstone.
The gemstone must be returned in its original condition and must not have been damaged, altered, treated, recut, polished, or otherwise modified after delivery.
Gold, Silver, Metal & Making Charges
Custom jewellery involves precious metals, craftsmanship, sizing, finishing, and other production costs specifically incurred for your order.
Accordingly:
- 20% of the metal value will be retained as a recycling and processing charge.
- Making charges are non-refundable.
- Any additional customization or special-work charges specifically incurred for the order may also be non-refundable, where applicable.
100% Store Credit Option
Instead of a cash refund for the applicable metal and making charges, VedicCarat may offer 100% store credit against eligible metal and making charges.
This store credit can be used toward a future jewellery setting or eligible VedicCarat purchase, subject to the applicable terms.
Important
Custom-made jewellery is prepared specifically according to the customer's requirements. Therefore, customized settings are not eligible for a full refund of the total order value.
All returns remain subject to VedicCarat's 7-Day Return Policy, product-condition requirements, and successful inspection and verification.
For high-value custom jewellery, VedicCarat reserves the right to conduct additional verification before approving any refund or store credit.

The VedicCarat Abhimantrit Ritual

In traditional Vedic practice, an astrological gemstone is not considered merely a beautiful natural mineral. It is often purified and consecrated through mantra and ritual before being worn.
As part of our Abhimantrit process, eligible gemstones undergo a carefully conducted Vedic consecration ritual.
The process may include:
- Shuddhi — traditional purification of the gemstone.
- Dhoop & Deepa — a sacred ritual environment prepared with traditional elements.
- Graha Mantra — recitation of the mantra traditionally associated with the gemstone's corresponding planetary deity.
- Sankalp — a ritual intention associated with the purpose for which the gemstone has been prepared.
- Consecration — completion of the ritual before the gemstone begins its journey to you.
Where specified for the product, planetary mantras are traditionally recited 108 times as part of the consecration process.
